Barred Midas,,,

Hello, I added a new addition to my 75gl tank, juvenile "Barred Midas" bout 4&1/2" Tank mates, (Pink Convict)(Red Texas)(Leopard Pleco)(two Clown Loachs),,, Always liked Midas Cichlids just hope he doesn't attack my R/T once he gets acquainted with his new home!!!!!

Cant see his bars, tank light is off & I had the flash on my camera phone, plus He is alittle jarred up from transport, only been in the tank for a few hours,,,,

Lol, your prob right, My old 'Barred Midas' (In my avatar pic) Was a Bad AzZ!!!! He used to attack my hand when I would do water changes & clean the tank!!!! Gotta Luv'm,,,,

I have one, exactly the same, I got it from the breeeders of Thailand, dont know abt his parents, but his bars appear and disapper frequently. why is that? and is that normal? you can see his images, with bars and without bars.

I have a wild caught red barred midas. Same thing. Sometimes, he has no bars at all and he's almost yellow. Other times, he's red with light black bars. Only time his bars are really dark is when he's fighting. He's about 6 inches.

Yeah, he gets his bars, when he is chasing other fish or abt to fight, he is most dominant one in my tank. I would love to see those bars more often, but he only shows it sometimes

I originally thought it was a barred midas, but now I'm beginning to think he's crossed with red devil cause he's started fade a few weeks ago?
