I was just searching on Ron Pratte last night, trying to figure out who he is. I have seen him buying all of the high dollar cars the last few years, but had never heard of him outside of the auto auctions.

I've also been looking for the "Ferrari guy"... you know who I'm talking about? A few years back he was buying up EVERYTHING. He always wears a Ferrari hat and jacket.

God to be Ron Pratte for one day. The sick ass burnouts I would do...

Yeah remember him.. sitting in a couple million dollar cars while they're still on the auction block(big no-no), and bought alot of expensive cars. Also not all the of the people buying these cars you will know.. Alot are private collectors, that aren't very famous.

I worked for a real estate firm in So Fla for about a year and the most obnoxiously rich people that bought houses from us ($33 million and up) look just like the guy in line next to you at the grocery store. Usually the ones with no money want to look like they have it and the ones with all of it don't want you to know.

God to be a car collector. I mean... to collect a $1 mil + car. I just want one!!!

I don't know if I would like having a million dollar car. I would only want ones that I would be able to drive and I don't think I would ever drive a car worth a mil. I think I would be happy with a Ferrari 360 Stradale. :)

as a car enthusiast I don't really like the BJ auctions. Don't get me wrong I love the cars. but i think this auction is partially responsible for the horrible prices on muscle cars and classic cars these days. People see a numbers matching Hemi Cuda with 1000 miles on it sell for 1mil at BJ, and they think there barracuda with a mismatched non running 318 is suddenly worth 20 grand.

Luckily i haven't seen as much of this stupidy lately, either everyone sold their cars or they realized the car isn't actually worth that much, but for a few years it was horrible.

I would love to go to BJ as a spectator, but not as a buyer and probably not as a seller. I don't know if there is an actual Mr Barrett and Mr Jackson, but if so they are making a killing. charge insane fees to both the seller, and the buyer, i think its like 10% to each.

I agree and then people want 10k for a rusted out shell of a car that didn't even have that much muscle... Old car prices have gotten insane.
