Hi all,

Anyone with a small 90cm tank and on a budget, maybe interested in setting up a contemporary tank for some of the dwarf centrals available.

I have chosen a pair of Cryptoheros sp. 'honduran red points'. Lovely fish and very easy to spawn.

A small shoal of platy's would make excellent dither fish for this setup.

The tank below took around 3 hours to complete. Mature water and filtration media was added for a instant setup.

Wow, a beautiful aquascape!

Hats off to you, Lee! That was such a great video that I didn't mind you misspelling "Pebbles". LOL That HRP pair looks right at home. The contrasting sizes and textures of media really draws you in, adds much interest. I ended up with two female HRPs. One is a powder-blue and the other is a Cobalt blue. They are little bundles of color and activity. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. HRP's are really cool cichilds and ideal for anyone starting out, with a small tank or on a tight budget.

They have a spawn in this tank, you maybe able to see some of the fry in the video, hence why the female is still displaying a dominant dress. I love the colours, especially under natural lighting.

Here's a direct flash photograph, showing the intense blue.

Your set ups are always making me jealous! What kind of wood is that? What are you using for filtration?

Thanks. The wood is beech tree, but i also use oak and some fruit trees like apple and damson in some setups.

Filtration is a old Fluval external, the outlet pipe is set above the waterline for photography work.

Thanks. I wasn't sure about doing the video, but seemed a good way to get the idea of the setup across to anyone interested.
