Hello, I'm Sufi from Singapore. I've owned a few fish before. But, sadly all of them died. Longest being 6 months. I'm here to learn more about fishes, mainly Bichir, and the dos and don'ts. Maintenance, care and other important stuffs which I'v yet to learn of. Currently, I'm looking out for an aquarium(tight on cash) suitable for a growing Bichir.

I'm afraid the only replies you will get is to research setting up and maintaining a fish tank by looking at the relevant stickies and posts. Start at cycling a tank but research you desired species to buy the right size tank only if it is for grow out. Did you do water changes with past tanks and how long was your tank established before stocking heavily?

Yes i did change the water. But doing it the wrong way, i only took out half of the water and fill in with a new one.My previous set up was pretty bare. My latest fish died, was probably due to a virus(?) as one of the fishes was seen sneezing(?) I'm not sure if that was sneezing or something else. Whoch led to the others getting affected.

50% water change is good size water change how often ? Did you treat the water I'm guessing the water temp of the new wouldn't be too different as your in Singapore. What filtration were you using for what volume of water? Did you have bubblers etc for good oxygenation. How often did you clean the gravel/ sand? Did you cycle your tank did you test your water often when adding new fish?

welcome to mfk.. nice to meet you..
