I will be moving soon and will need to break down and re-setup my tank. When I fill the tank again with water will I need to worry about introducing all fish too quickly or will the substrate maintain it's biological properties so that I don't need to worry about any type of cycling?
if your a regular at a lfs maybe they'll let you use/rent/borrow a tank in there store to house them until your tank is setup and ready for them. In my area I had moved and they let me use a tank in their store and they even fed them for me for 15 bucks a week but I regularly shopped there and made regular conversation with them.
yeah, I would go ahead and put the fish in as soon as you get your tank set up. I definitely think this would be better than the fish being in a cooler or whatever you moved them in (less stress). You will need to keep your media/gravel in existing tank water as to not kill the helpful bio filtration.
