Keep the bio media in your filter submerged in tank water during the move. You should be ok if you have a sufficient amount of bio media.
 
Yes that would help to keep it alive. Get the tank set back up and let it run for a little while. The water conditioner needs time to work. Good luck!
 
if your a regular at a lfs maybe they'll let you use/rent/borrow a tank in there store to house them until your tank is setup and ready for them. In my area I had moved and they let me use a tank in their store and they even fed them for me for 15 bucks a week but I regularly shopped there and made regular conversation with them.
 
yeah, I would go ahead and put the fish in as soon as you get your tank set up. I definitely think this would be better than the fish being in a cooler or whatever you moved them in (less stress). You will need to keep your media/gravel in existing tank water as to not kill the helpful bio filtration.
