I just purchased a 220 gallon tank. I have two alligator gar and four Orino peacock bass . The bass eat shrimp and pellets and the gar eat live feeders.
Is this a good pairing of fish?
What should I do?

Just hope you have a plan for your gator gar, seeing as they get really big. Otherwise nice fish

I have no idea about gator gar, but I do know cichla. Orino's grow way slower of that of the gator gar. I think I seen some where that the gar grows to 2' in the first year? But the orino's grows to about 15" in the first year. Given the size of the gar and the bass after a year time, I personally wouldn't do it.

Would work for awhile but you will need a larger.tank in a few years make shure you have great filtration and big water changes. I had 5 p bass they are wild as they get larger and if you want 4 with 2 gator gars I would say you will need at least 400 gallons.

gar and cichlids is not a good combination in most cases. Ask this in the gar forum and you will get most of the same responses. Gators are different from most other gars in that they get very aggressive as they get older.

Gator gars get massive, I dont think a 220 will last in the long-run, unless you have a plan for them in the future already.

Orinos' growth rates are way slower than the Gators, eventually becoming feeders in no time. In fact the Gators will out grow your new tank pretty soon. May have better luck with Florida Gars.

I'm going to sell one of the gars and begin training my gar to eat shrimp and talapia.
