Bass breeding?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i think it would be pretty hard to induce a climate to have them breed. Im a fish maniac prolly fish 5 times a week, but usually theyd have to have a giant tank im saying at least 300 gallons there breeding beds are big, what size tank were you thinking about doing it in

that might be very doable, id suggest heavily planting it for lmb
also if you get them to breed- build a pond for all the babys, a big one !!!!!!!!

yea sand would be key for nesting ground, it would be neat if you could build the tank so the sand was shallower by like a foot than the gravel or so, and heavily plant the shallows just an idea , would take alot of effort though, lilly pads and other type of weedy plants to give the female a sense of seclusion
were braining up a storm

yea that would be neat to get a little community going im sure crayfish would work out great just give them places to hide and stuff, maybe catch native sunfish that are diesel and quarantine them in a seperate tank before you put them in the giant, would be cool if you could figure out a way for a depth change, you could even try out your new lures in there!! probably wouldnt be the best idea, ive always wanted to do that however
yea maybe try to get a schooling type of fish, perch would probably work as long as they didnt breed whhich im sure would end up happening
whadda think,
ive always dreamed of having a freshwater stripe bass setup maybe in like a 5000 gallon tank, that would be off the charts

sounds cool. i would catch or buy some minnows and keep some for breeding in a small for feeders. same for the crayfish. that would be excellent for a striper tank. what would you think about a tank for bluefish or porgies???

yea i was thinkin doing it fresh water, just because it would be a hell of alot easier, im only 16, and yes ive though of that having a 10,000 gallon tank with a few rock piles filled with pogies and blackfish, have bottom feeders, sea robin and flounder and then the stripers and blues, with schooling fish like bunker and snapper, would be amazing aha,
yea that would probably be a good idea a minnow setup prolly want it pretty big how big were you thinking for that, also feed em the good old worms, they will probably take meaty foods as well maybe krill
how big will they be when purchased
