im kind of considering getting a pet bass, is that possible? im hoping to get the small but im not sure if you have to have a certain liscense for that or anything, im in Texas now but moving to Colorado, but i think it would be interesting to have a pet bass!

preferably a LMB, if not then a SMB

You just have to make sure you have plenty of filtration on the tank. They produce plenty of waste.

they are pretty easy to keep. acts like a large cichlid. i wouldn't worry about a permit. i seriously doubt that anyone will come in to check on it

we catch babies here all the time and noone ever checks us if we keep them. like ziggy said though have some good filtration because i have heard they are very messy.

I hope you realize that bass need something around 180 gallons+. I don't know the laws in Texas, but in Colorado it is illegal to remove live fish from the wild. You can keep natives, but you have to get them from somewhere other than the wild....

Also, people have gotten in trouble with the law for posting about illegally caught/kept fish, so you might want to be careful about what you say here....

My brother in law has one in his pond, the wild lives in a lake version, first it ate all his koi but, now he can actually hand feed it. Turned into quite a nice pet.
