Bass losing killer instinct??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
shua 71 ur fish sounds like it has internal parasites i got some wild broko from a great vendor that i know treated them previous to shipment i have a theory that it may take a couple doses to completely rid some fish of parasites that sunken stomach and no appetite is a dead give away i hate to use meds but salt and heat dosnt allways do the job i used prazipro after one dose my fish came to life started eating regularly again i used the same meds as the vendor i trust it works but i think some fish are affected far worse then others do some research on internal parasites and youll understand what i mean

finally got the gar on pellets and literally everything I drop in the tank. The bass has not eatin for almost 3 weeks now so I decided to throw a minnow in and see if he even has an appetite. He would go after it but not eat it. Scooped it back up and droped it in again and he ate it. That is all he wanted and nothing more or less. This is not typical peacock bass behavior and is very frustrating. All water paramaters are good and temp is 82. I do not know what to do with him. Any suggestions to raise his appetite to what it used to be a few months ago would be greatly appreciated. He used to never let another fish touch the food dropped in until he was full. Its boarderline depressing because that is why we have peacocks. They are such a beautiful and powerful fish.
bass at that size dont eat all the time you should try to get him another bass buddy might help change his additude

I doubt its water parameters or temps. I do 70% changes weekly and temp is always at 80. Internal parasites don't seem likely either as i had him for a few months before this came about. The odd thing is yesterday he actually ate massivore. I was feeding him krill which he slowly ate while my other fishes had tilapia. I'll see how he does now that he'll take pellets and i'll update you. I'm sure hes taking pellets now since I picked up a second bass

I am hoping to have the same success. I just picked up an awesome orino about 8 inches who is on pellets. My current 14 inch pbass bass is showing more activity then ever before. Guess all he needed is a buddy but time will tell if he will start eating again like he used to. Let me know how your progress is coming and any tips you may have done to get him back to normal! Good Luck
