Bass need help!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ich doesn't cure over night. You have a really bad case of it. going to take a couple weeks. Some fish don't get ich but just because it isn't noticable your flagtail can still have it. Ich curing process takes time and patience. This is why it's always best to quarantine all new fish.

Just added some salt to the tank as well as meds and water changes… will update in a week and see how it goes

The stress of being shipped often predisposes fish to Ick.
Whether using a med, or salt, both do the same thing, by creating osmotic pressure on the newly hatching Ick.
Neither kill Ick that is already on the fish, each spot hatch out up 100 new Ick that reinfect.
The raising of temp doesn't kill Ick either.
When collecting here in Panama I find fish in water of over 90'F with Ick parasites on them.
I just use salt as a treatment, but the salinity must be high enough, or the juvie Ick will continue to infect.
I use at least 3lbs of salt per 100 gallons.
The fish below was shipped to me in winter, was chilled, enough to develope Ick.
The shot above is from Jan 27th
Slightly over 3 lbs of water softener salt was added that day.
Below same fish by Feb 1st, although I kept salinity up for 2 weeks more
I add all all 3lbs+ at once, in the form of water softener salt

Thanks for all the tips! 2 orinos got better and sadly the other 2 orinos
Happens with ich. Win some and lose some. What treatment approach are you using?

Wow, no one just recommended just using aqua salt and high heat with a dab of air circulation?

Never lost one bass by doing this. Meds are BS with salt bath just a simple cure.
