:grinno:anyone know how to prepare largemouth bass to take the grassy taste out?
what your most succsesful lure to date, even if you only had one special day were you caught thirty fish.

i only catch and release bass because someone said they taste a little grassy and are inedible, but i want to eat them.i will try some and see the taste

The best way to prepare LMB is to release them. There are PLENTY of better tasting fish out there.

If I had only one bait, it would be a Senko for sure!

Silver rattletrap works pretty well for me on ponds. I don't know about a grassy taste, but they are awful sweet tasting. I agree, release the bass and eat the crappie, walleye, and others.

Thank you JD, you could of not put it any better way, they whole point of fishing for me is enjoying nature honestly, i only take fish back that get a hook in the ol' gullet which is rare. not much you can do to change the taste, so dont eat them

i would probably say senko as well, although not sure what i would do without crankbaits poppers and the rest of my tackle

hey im pretty sure thats not answering his question. eating some largemouth bass is no big deal-they are incredibly abundant thruout the US. as a matter of fact, i think im gonna go catch one over 8 inches and cook it up for supper. as for the thread starters question, i have never eaten lmb so i dont even know how to prepare it. as for my most successful lure, worms on a medium large hook.:)

I like zara spooks though I know the least about fishing here but they work well for me . You should try a couple of bass I myself like them.
There are better tasting fish I agree but you might enjoy them I like them broiled with onions and potatos and a nice cream soda with scoop of vanilla ice cream

le patron how would you classify a medium large hook?
