le patron how would you classify a medium large hook?
about two inches long;1inch wide. i use eagle claw bait holders. put a sinker about a foot and a half above hook, use one and a half to two worms for big ones. one worm for small ones

I hope you get a LMB well over 8" if you plan on eating it or youll go hungry! I dont think there is anything wrong with eating bass as there are pleny of them but they just taste like @$$ to me! Id rather have a crappie, bluegill, catfish, white bass, hybrid bass, stripe bass, sauger, pike, walleye, or yellow perch over a LMB ANYDAY!

LMB is one of my favorite fish to eat and I think def my favorite fish to catch so far...

The best way IMO to cook them is on the grill...you clean the fish, make a tin foil pouch big enough for the fish. Toss in the fish, salt and pepper to taste, toss in some onions and lemons and crimp the tin foil pouch closed. It basically steams the fish on the grill...it is amazing!

I caught a 8lb LMB about 2 summers ago, did the whole fish that way. Best fish I have ever had, ever!

Apparently youve never had any of the fish I just mentioned or you really like the taste of mud! LMB, especially big ones like that re well known to have a mud taste to them.

I have never had any LMB that tastes like mud or grass. I love the flavor myself. I have had a ton of fish, I am from NE, we live on fish during the summer. There are plenty of fish that I love to eat, but I think bass is one of my favorites. Hornpout is my ultimate I think...straight up with some salt and pepper on the grill, cajun style grilled, you name it! Damn IL, seafood and fish is so expensive out here...so far not a fan of the fact that I can not drive a little over an hour and be in the ocean...and not so sure I would eat what comes out of Lake Michigan haha

I think all warm water game fish have a little "muddy" or "grassy" taste, but it isn't unpleasant, in my opinion. To minimize this flavor fillet the fish, removing the bones and skin seems to help. Another way to get rid of this is to soak the fillets in buttermilk. I then dredge them in seasoned flour and bread crumbs before deep-frying them.
