ok so new to the site but been reading threw some other posts and u guys seem to no your stuff. Been into fish all my life and have had some sort of tank for 20+ years from salt water to chiclids for long time to golfish when i was young but this is my first native caught fish tank. Berfore i ask the ? let me give u a lil back round info. I am going for a native tank like i said before and live in nj. I have a 120 gallon perfecto tank with three canister filters all pumping 300+ gallons an hour so in total lil over 900gph, no heater regular lights and live plants. all water levels are perfect besides my ph it is roughly 7.8 which im trying to still bring down a bit tough though cus my tap water for some reason is very high with it to begin with. i curently have a lmb roughly 10inches and a green sunfish 5inches which both are doing great and eat like no other wierd things is the sunny picks on the lmb go figure. My question is i want to add a yellow perch and a pumpkinseed sunfish for some color both about 5 inches but would that be to many fish. Also have red ramshorm and malaysin trumpet snails in there and will be adding crayfish. have also attached a pic let me no what u think still a work in progress adding alot of stuff tom will repost with the new look

Your tank looks pretty nice, but I have to add a few things....first, just leave your ph alone. More people have problems when they try to adjust their ph, than when they just leave it alone. Besides, the fish you caught were living in probably the same ph as your tapwater. Second, that bass will outgrow your tank, and you could add some other perch and sunfish to it if you remove the bass (do NOT release it into the wild, whatever you do.)

Yep, I was going to mention that the LMB is going to outgrow that tank. Figure out what you want to do with that guy first...

Cool tank tho.

well i have a 150gallon in the basement i was planning on putting him in which brings me to my next ?. when do you think he will be "too big" for the setup he is now..

If I were you I would move him to that tank now (maybe add a bullhead for a bottom feeder) and then get a few perch and sunfish for the 125.

well that tank is empty not even water in it so would need a couple week at least to get it up and running safe enough for fish. thats why i was wonder how long would u say hey can stay in this tank for size wise...like what size would be to big for a 120 gallon

My LMB grew very quickly from 6 to 10 inches. Seems to be slowing down a bit now. I think yours should be ok for a few months. That should give you time to get the other tank set up.

Just to chime in, even that 150 is only going to be good temporarily. In about a year you are going to need a 300+ if you want to keep him. Also, by that time, he probably would have eaten the sunfish.
