Bassman that might be true that they maybe able to live at any temp but that dosent mean that they are healthy. Bass up here in Wisconsin dont do real great. They will do okay if they dont have smallies in the same lake beacause the smallies can with stand the winter better and come out of it in better condition. Lmb will out anything except maybe a hybrid stripper but dont compete well against other fish in the cold.

Must have felt like you had jaws on. I know guys who take trips to kansas to try and catch one that size. They try for them on fly rods and i think the biggest they got was eight lbs.

i caught one that was 13lbs in like 60ft of water...i can only imagine what the 18pounder felt like....imagine and 18 pound wiper on a flyrod???...id probably cry lol
Kansas has great wiper/ white bass fishing. Ive only caught white bass on a flyrod though. The one in my avatar was from a lake 15 minutes from my house on a tube jig. I dont need to drive 6 hours to kansas to catch monster wipers lol.
