Bastard ate one of my TSN's

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well, my rtc lived in harmony with the tsn.
The RTC are growing faster than the tsn, so I moved them to grow out a little bit.
hope when I put them together again they wont act like this.
and i fed then from 2 to 2 days.

yeh wen they r young i wouldnt take the risk with ANY catfish...sumhow wen they grow older...they mellow out and become chillaxed...especially in large open spaces...my 40'' RTC monsters dont even touch the marble/RTC 17 incher in the pond...

I don't think they getter more mellow. I think it depends on the fish itself. As i have posted before, my RTCs live in 3x2 m pond/aquarium (not huge but big enough) and it chased down arapaima (remember the thread http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=161954&highlight=arapaima )

Sorry the loss of TSN though ... i did not think it would eat a fellow catfish because of the spine on the fins ... new lesson indeed for me

wow what a greedy bastid!

still an untrustworthy size... TLkMDN is talking about over 3' they slow down and stop chasing stuff so much...takes to much energy and if they wait long enough food will come to them :D

^_^ let's see if mine over 3 ' will slow down heheheheh mine are almost there.

Funny though, they did not eat the 2 asian RTCs (which were wayyyyyyyyy smaller than them .... certainly smaller than the eaten arapaima) that i used to keep with them. aRTC died in the end (cause unknown). Note that RTC liked to sit on aRTC for some bizzar reason (or may be it was aRTC always hiding under them) ... never did figure it out
