I called up a place in the northern suburbs of Chicago to see if they had any rays and he said he had a 12" accross bat ray from California and then we talked about blue dot stingrays. After awhile we go back on the subject of the bat rays and I asked how much and he said 2600.00 because shipping is high on these. I wanted to tell him he was out of his mind since I could have purcheased one last week for 300.00. What are these normally going for? BTW no species name was mentioned, just batray.

I'd say if it's the 'batray' I'm thinking of (looks like a dark black cownose with a spotted eagle ray rostrum), then between $1000-2000 would be a retail/petstore price. Most of it would be shipping cost. Wholesale you can find them from $500-800.
zoo is this the same species of ray that you are talking about? I seen that fresh marine currently has these available and was interested in one but wasn't sure if it was the species that can get like a 5ft wing span.

i can catch you as many batrays as you want for free if you come to california, its all I fish for, I can get you them from 1lb to 150lbs =D, How big is your tank to house these guys because they get HUGE
