Batfish?

I'm getting a large(12'' tall) batfish(not sure which species, although i know he's yellowish with black stripes, i was thinkin' panax) at was just wondering what the basic care instructions are. He's coming w/a 72 gallon bow tank with all sorts of other fish including damsels, clowns, surgeon fish, catfish, etc.

Sounds like a lot of fish for a 72. Most batfish will eat anything from pellets to chopped shrimp. Depending on species, he will get fairly large.

OK thanks. I'm not fairly familar with salt, just fresh...How big excatly will he get? Do you think a larger tank would be nessasary?

Well, i was just upthere yesterday, and the tank doesn't have nearly as many fish as i thought it did...because he wan't doing maintance quite as often as he should of, all the fish except one damsel, one yellow tank, one cardinal, and the batfish died. I'm still taking it though, and it's actually a 45 minute drive, so i think i'll put the batfish in a cooler the stay the same temp through the cold...
