I heard that supposedley if you fill a bath with water and put in your bearded dragon he wil swim around and it is good for him to do once in a while. This sounded a little strange to me but is this true? And if so what temperature should the water be at?

Don't let him swim if he doesn't want to. Yes, it is good. Very good. Beardie's don't need to drink water to hydrate, they can absorb it through their vent. Fill up the tub with water up to the beardie's shoulder, on the side of the tub farthest to the drain. The drain side will be deeper, the beardie can swim if it wants to there.

Water should be warm like a baby bath.

yeah my beardy use to love baths but as long as the water feels good to youre wrist it should be good

how warm shud the water be?

Warm like you are going to wash a baby. Test it with your wrist.

why is this thread strange to me?lol, hey mine drank from a bowl all the time though. If you misted them they loved drinking that too.If you place them in the tub dude, keep it so they can still touch and get air.IMO.

Mine always has bowl and drinks regularly, but he also gets a "bath" in a tub of warm water about once a week. He also likes to bathe himself in his bowl a lot, but it's just above room temp as it probably gets some residual heat from his basking light

I dont know if everyone else should try this. After the beardie is done crinking i ad a small capfull of listerine to help kill bacteria and help with any odors. Then i only let him swin in this for about 5 minutes so he doesnt take to much in. Been doing it for about 5 years now with no ill effects at all. Anyone else do this?
