Bathing Dragons

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I occassionally bring my beared dragon outside around my pond (under close supervision). He seems to really enjoy it, and either swims in the pond or lounges in the waterfall. It is amazing how much they can drink when they want to.

Also, regarding water temperature, mine appears to prefer cooler water, around 75F, than warmer water. He will swim in the pond, even when it is cooler than that, but when i let him swim in the bathtub with warmer water (not hot, just lukewarm), he dislikes it.

Anyways, they really do like water, which is kinda funny, considering they are desert creatures

Again...NOT recommending it, just saying that's what he does.

Apparently you do not read well.

I read fine. Apparently you need to work on your social skills. ;)

I was simply reiterating the fact that this should not be attempted.

i have a full grown BD and i do put him in my bath i put him in the sink keep just warm to you and try to put a cloth on the bottom of the sink to make him feel more comfroable it hydrates them and helps them shed

Nah my social skills are fine. ;)

My beardie wouldn't drink from sitting water unless it was visibly moving. I sprayed him twice daily, and he would drink it as it hit his face.

btw, where does the bearded dragon originate from? People try and make it look like the desert in their enclosures because it does look like a desert animal but considering it enjoys swimming on colder water, i highly doubt that. Same idea for leos (not the swimming) people think they live in the desert so load up their enclosures with sand but in the end find out that they live in the rocky parts of India :grinno:
