Does anyone know where I can get a couple battery operated air pumps for a decent price that would work in a 2.5 gallon size tank?

I bought mine at my LFS for about $30 each. They run on 2 D cell batteries which run for 4 days non stop before batteries die. They are a great back up for when the power goes out. They are MillionAir via aqua DC 250. Just one of them would be more than enough for a 2.5 gal tank.

I have two 2.5s that I'd want to try them in.

But only 4 days non stop thats not really that great , I was hoping I could use it as a permanent air stone bubbler and just replace the batteries every now and then. By the way, do you think an air bubbler would be effective in producing more oxygen for those tanks? The filtration units on my "real" tanks take care of them but these two are not filtered so that's why I'm asking. Bit of a bedroom project I got going on with these two 2.5's lol

check drs foster and smith

i got 3 battery air pumps for 9.99. there cheap and are more than what you will need. i just have them in case the power goes out or i travel for a fish.

good luck

4 day nonstop is very good, trust me. A LED flash light with 100 lumen only light 16 h nonstop !

you can always use a bigger battery with the same voltage!

Go to the fishing section at Wal-Mart...they are like $5. The ones I got are called "Hush bubbles" or something along those lines.

Why not just get normal air pumps? There are plenty that PLUG IN to the wall that would work for a 2.5 (why would anyone want one? :grinno:)

thanks for the replies all. Trel I'm trying to cut my electric bill not increase it lol. As it is between the heaters, filters, and the price of electricity going up it's killing me.
