Battery Operated Air Pumps?

Go to the fishing section at Wal-Mart...they are like $5. The ones I got are called "Hush bubbles" or something along those lines.

+1 walmart has them in the fishing section for bait buckets and live wells. They take a D battery or 2. I used mine to move my fish tank for 8 an hour drive.

thanks for the replies all. Trel I'm trying to cut my electric bill not increase it lol. As it is between the heaters, filters, and the price of electricity going up it's killing me.

If you think batteries are cheaper than paying for electricity I think you will be dissapointed. Maybe get a hamster wheel to run a generator for the air pump, but then you would have to buy hamster food.

if you are having trouble paying for the electricity you may want to give adding another tank a second thought.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to use a normal air pump (and use electricity) than replacing batteries all the time?

I can't imagine an air pump taking that much power.

My power bill it rarely over 100 bucks at 10 cents per kilowatt.

I have 4 emp 400's, 2 xp3, 2 zoomed 501s, 4 elite stringrays, 7 canopies, 2 penguin 200s, one penguin 350, 2 larger airpumps and a tiny whisper filter running. I also have 7 heaters running around 80-84 degrees.

Plus all the power a 2 bedroom apartment with 3 running computers would use.... (excluding heat and water bills).

batteries will definitly cost more than just plugging pumps in,alot more.
Unless you use rechargables and plug them in at the neighbors house..
