I wanted to see this movie when it started but couldn't untill today.Damn good film though, glad I went and I suggest it for our action movie fans here.

havent seen it yet but it looks really good. even tho it says this movie was fiction. a lot of people dont know that this is actually based on a true event. but of course not like in the movie. from what i remember, in 1964 there was an alien invasion in los angeles and the militaty fired something like a thousands shots at the ufo. if you searched theres 1 or maybe 2 actually footage of it.

Um... it was based on the 'Battle of LA' in WWII (1942) when there was a night of anti-aircraft military action taken because they thought the Japanese were flying planes over California. It ended up being blamed on war nerves.

By the way I did see this movie, and it was pretty good. There is a lot of pro-military propaganda (they really shove the Marines down your throat almost like you're watching a recruiting video) and the dialogue is a bit cheesy but otherwise the aliens, the action and the CGI are awesome. Worth seeing.

possibly, but have you heard of this case or researched about it before or simply just looked it up right now and only read what wiki said and automatically believed what it says?

not saying your wrong, but i suggest reading and looking up more source about this case. cuz its pretty interesting. and if you did read everything what wikki says. somethings dont add up.

it said it was likely a losted air balloon, total blackout during the event. 1,400 shells fired....1,400 shells fired at an balloon...really? this lasted for 1 hour. isnt that too long? wouldnt the object flown away as soon as it knew it was being fired? if not shot down at that many rounds and recovered?

just my opinions.

^ Well needless to say, the real event happened during WW2 and not too long after the attack on Pearl Harbor when the US was on edge.

Bingo no where near the 60's? it was WWII..but have you ever thought since this was a possible ufo in 1942 they found it and recovered it then 5 years later Roswell happened and they were there fast for the reason of 1942..makes sense. (imma a UFO believer) *hardcore believer* :headbang2
