I introduced some goldfish (i know they are bad for P's but it was an emergency because one of the P's was on his way to kill the other one) and it has worked out. Soon the poor goldies have become the target of the P's rage and they have joined to eat them and stopped attacking at each other.....
I am sure the destroyed tail would heal soon though...

I don't think a few goldfish would do any harm. A steady diet of goldfish would, but a few here and there to save your P's I don't think is a problem.
