Doing water changes
AS promised the 240 pics.

The filtration is a 29 gallon sump it has 1 300w heater in it and a rio 2500 and another 300 in the tank for now. and an FX5 also helps filter the tank.

Im also thinking donw the road to put some plants in the sump with a light obviously and a drip system

One thing Im having a problem with is the return tube is bending right before it enters the tank so i have a 2x4 holding it up so its a smooth return. Anyone got any tips for me its 3/4 inch tubing.

Great setup. Your fish will be very happy. As far as that tube I think you can either make it shorter by cutting it, or tape it against the wall or tank to prevent bending.

Nice looking oscars. I got one myself today.

Its my first tank with a sump and Im kinda worried about the tanks temp changing but the pump should circulate it enough. But would 1 300 watt heater be enough? I guess old habits die hard. Thanks Gr8KarmaSF the background is taped on the outside its a 3-D background I really like the way it looks with the sand and everything else. I also wanna add some rocks

Thanks Scorponok. the fish are happy i can tell since there is less fighting but seems I may have another breeding pair of Managuense Dam horny little guys.

Ive had the Oscars for a little over 2 years I didnt realize how big they got until i had to move them with a 8 inch net that they were bigger then. What kind of Oscar did you get?

I cant wait until sunday to go fish shopping definatley going to get as long as i can find the right size a like 4-5 clown loaches ,salvini ,red terror (female) , and maybe a silver aro and datnoid.

Its best to have both heaters in the sump as one will always be a backup if the other goes out!!!

Keep up the good fish keeping!!!

You can use a litte vegatable oil or pam, spray it on the surface of the back ground that faces the tank and squeege it on to get rid of air bubbles. It shouldn't ever fall off or seperate from the tank. (IMO it looks much better this way and seem more natural) If you want to change it just peel it off.

Get a short section of 4 inch ABS cut a slot in it that fits the edge of your tank. Open ends should be against the wall and over the tank and lay the tubbing over it drill a hole on each side and zip tie in place. This will prevent kinking and look better then a 2X4. IME if you tie it up or tape it sooner or later it will kink or fall off.

I got a tiger oscar. These guys grow really fast and I am sure it's gonna outgrow my dats in no time.
