BD Hybrid Difference

Part of the list of BD traits used to be perimeter spotting. These fish look to have Leopoldi perimeter spotting. Therefore would be classified as Leo or perhaps Leo x BD by OLD standards.

By today's standards since they have a dark base they would be called BD. But since one seems to have larger spots then the other you could call one a "Big Spot BD" at least..... Might be able to call them both "thousand island" too since they both seem to have a few random small spots.

Seems that grading rays has taken the millenial approach - careful not to offend anyone - everyone gets a participation trophy and every ray is whatever you want it to be regardless of actual lineage.

Best way to KNOW what you're getting is to get from reliable trustworthy sources.... Most people breeding rays for the right reasons are very proud of their work and keep track of lineage.
