Have you even seen a leo/henlei cross they look nothing like rays, there tails and spots are totaly different.

Care to elaborate the difference in tail and spots? Is it because of the "C" spots?
I have seen "U", "O", "G", "S" even "$" and "?".

Leo have short flag tail and leo/henlei or pure henlei have a longer tail. Has nothing to do with C,U,O,G or anything like that. Take look at these leo/henlei rays I have bred you can see difference in body color and spot coloration.
