BD's with Big spots???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have allways fed sturgeon pellets along with frozen foods, i have not noticed any discolouring of the white spots

I know some breeders that don't feed pellets because it causes the white colors to start to brown and wash out.

It probably doesn't pigment them much I think you're right Jim. But then again you have stunning BD'S!

I've just heard that said before by some old timers

I think a lot of the pics we see of some hybrids and bd the pics are taken in white tanks and pictures are over exposed or even black and white
The White tank helps to disguise that fact

The spots on my bds also change with the amount of light on the tank. If I have them in low lit tanks their spots are tan, when moved to a higher lit tank 90% of the time the spots whiten up dramatically

Do you think the spots themselves change or their appearance is different under a different spectrum of light?

Spots definitely change. When transferring them and out of water spots were dark after a month or so way brighter

My BD and p14 are super white always, my hybrids seem to change a bit with feed, lighting, add maturity.
I use a beamswork LED double bright. What kind of lights do you use?
