I still dont get why you use a razorblade? How do you clean with that? Sorry im having trouble picturing that in my head. I use a discarded credit card to clean my tanks, and it does a fine job.

is that just for algae or will the credit card also remove calcium deposits? I'm thinking it probably would but I've never tried it so was wondering if you had.

:)

I use a nice scrub thing with a handle to clean junk off mine... works great even with calcium deposits. Never tried a razor blade to scared of doing that I dont wanna start a leak!!

NO i was cleaning the outside of the glass, scraping off old tape and calcium deposit

ive just got a really powerful magnet cleaner and that works fine...for a really good clean tho razor blades are the way to go

i often clean the inside and outside of my tanks with a razorblade and last night i screwed up big time. i wasnt being careful and accidentally made a few small incisions in the silicone lining. oops. water was slowly leaking from the cuts, so i quickly got some silicone and put a few big gobs in the leak. it is OK now but last night i was freaking out. Now i got some big ugly gobs of silicone on my tank. at least it was only a 30 gallon and not my 90. :hitting: :wall: :nutkick:
