Beach sand okay?

throw some in a bucket and do a test, walmart play sand is 2 bucks a 20 pound bag, cant go wrong

i did the same! no washing/ no boiling. so far i love it so much! and havent caused a problem or 2 on my planted tank.
but then again i live in canada where water bodies are so big and clean.

I'm going to set up a 55 gallon african cichlid tank. So versus the $60 for sand, could I just go to the shore (not a public one.. fishing shore.) and get sand for the tank? Or would it just be better to get the sand that helps raise the PH levels?

Any imput would be appreciated.

Was this for salt or fresh?

Pool filter sand is $6-$8 a 40lb bag and it takes less to clean it than play sand.

I like sandblasting sand. completly clean right out of the bag!
