Beach sand to put in the tank?

i do it in a bucket and rine it till you can turn up the sand and the water still runs clear.
but definitely boil it (in small batches) first

yeah, i live on an island. lol. we use beach sand all the time.

^^ heh. i live right up the hill from the beach tell me about it.. i think the easiest way is to fill the sand in the tank.. if its a fatty tank this might be a little bit harder without the right siphon...anywayzzz

fill tank with the amount of sand u want. use a hose to fill the tank at least a 1/4(start siphon) the pressure from hose will stir all the sand. while the siphon sucks all the bad water out... left it like this for 5 minutes. instant clear. and pretty much half or more of my tanks already full. sand in there not blowin all over the place.
the siphon and fillin should be done at opposite end obviously lol...

Actually my favourite beach in New South Wales. Because the water is clear blue, white sands and not many people visit the south coast compared to the north coast so sometimes you have your own beach.

LOL, yeah they are great. I like rainbow beach up north here, but i'm not going to go there for white sand. I'd rather go somewhere for black sand.
