Beamswork LED's

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Beamswork leds are phenomenal lighting systems (I probably have the most experience with them on this site). Depending on the model you get they can come with either a plastic housing or a light weight aluminum metal. The 72" light does not sag in the middle, these lights are built very well and out compete the marineland single bright and double bright lights. The led120 and lower and higher models have a port on the opposite end of the lights that allows the addition of an external timer to control the whites and blues separate. If you are just looking for bright lighting for viewing fish go with the led200 and up models. They are single switch lights and are very bright.

Do you know if these lights will support a planted tank, possibly if the strips are doubled or tripled up?

Sorry never got notified. Id recommend two of the 36" 6500k for the 220. 10000k is fine for plants as well

I did find a few 72" options at 6500k. There is one with .5W LED's that is rated for 8,000 lumen and another that is made with 1W LED's that is rated at 9,500 lumen.

I was thinking that I could get two of the strips with the .5W and one of the strips with the 1W. this might prove to be too much, and I may still change my mind to go with something else, but I'm liking this idea.

Start with the one .5watt 6500k. Should be enough. If you need another order them. I'm assuming they are pretty cheap

You think that would be enough for plants in a 30" tall tank? Also, do you think the fewer 1W LED's would penetrate better than more of the .5W LED's?

I'm just trying to nail this down because I really don't have the money to go trial and error with the plants until I find a setup that works.

Yes I have lots of people running these lights on tanks from 2'-3ft depth. The 1 watts would penetrate better but if there is a difference in price you may be getting a better deal out of the.5watts. I'll post some photos from some customers who run these lights

Keep forgetting most of my drive has been deleted but here are the 4ft lights on a 110 30", and a 180 6ft 24 deep. Both lights were 4ft
