BEANI-BLANCOS (BAD NEWS) update

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Damn, that sucks. I was sooo looking forward to seeing what you brought back. Congratulations on the baby, and good luck.

Oh man that sucks man. Thanks for all you have done in the hobby. Ill still be here when you come back. If you would like to share the location info on collection sites I would love to take a stab at it.

thats horrible. what was thier justification if you had all the paper work lined up? maybe you can take some kind of action against the air line.

Thank you all for all the nice posts. afer speaking with GMFISHNUT, my wife, I feel I should take one more shot at these, for me, "Holy Grail" of the Beani variety. But now after reading what all of you have posted, my spirits have been lifted even more. It is too late in the year, as Thanksgiving is upon us, and Christmas & New Years around the corner. I think maybe in March after about a month that our next baby is born, I will try again, but plan things differently, and spend an extar day in Mexico incase things show they may take a dive. I regret NOT taking some pics of the adults. I took a couple of pics, not good ones, but one has my cousin with the cast net, another 2 have a juv. beani one of those 2 is hard to see but the beani is near the top left corner. And last is of the River. We caught in 2 locations, 1 up river and the second down river where it floods a plain which serves as an "estuary" where it appears is infested with Juv. beani, as we would catch minimus 10 pcs, per cast. So easily in aboyt 40-60 min. we hauled up about 100 juvs. The big ones we caught upriver were beautiful with lots of white almost like a an emarald/platinum color like in jcardonas last pic of the blanco out of water. Stunning beani, and again for me is the most beautiful of all beani, in markings and color...hands down. I think I will go, but there will be 1 condition. GMFISHNUT HAS to go with me!!! I feel he has more power of persuation over people, as I feel I have lost my edge with this last experiance. Will keep you all posted on when I hear from GMFISHNUT and what we plan. Thanks again everyone, your words help alot. Sincerely, JOE

I respect that decision entirely. It's never an easy or good thing to give up on something you are passionate about. If you would have thrown in the towel there would have always been a void.

March it is Joe! I was dissapointed that I missed this trip but it won't happen again. Let me know the dates when you figure it out and we'll make the necessary arrangements.

awesome!!! glad to hear youre taking another stab at it. im trying to convince the owner to let me get some DSLR pics of the white beani out of the water so you guys could see its TRUE beauty. he has a metallic sheen with incredible snake skin patterning on the fins.

and these "whitish" looking beanis on aquabid looking NOTHING like the true white beani

and from my other thread, for reference

March it is then! Thanks GMFISHNUT. And thanks for the pics jcardona. Those other "white" beani are nice, but I must agree, color and pattern wise, they do NOT stand up the Blancos! And I have to say, that the 4 adults I caught had some size to them about 5-6" and they were alreaduy showing that turquoise/white color almost like a emarald-platinum color with lots of "honycomb" pattern...lots of it! I love my Baluarte beani, but these are way more striking. Thanks again all.

Joe :)
