I emailed the seller, and he said he would sell me one of the extras at winning bid price. I'm getting me a beani.
Maybe when he finds out how well these fish sell he will go out of his way to get more. If I had the tank space I'd get some, but for now I'm sticking with the fish I have. That $40.00 for a one inch fish gets at me too, but if I started saving money for a purchase like this I'd get some in the future.

Another aspect of it regarding the auction is that we, fellow forum members, are driving the prices up even higher! We're pretty much competing against each other for the same fish and raising the incremental price.

Looks like Dan (tiny28 on WW) is bidding on it as well as Dan (cichluvr on AM). They are both breeder/retailers. It's getting interesting. Once someone buys some and post pics and starts bragging, there won't be any left for long. Someone's gonna make some $$$ on these fish!
well if the breeders start buying them all up then the hobbyists are screwed for the time being...

Me parecio interesante ver sus comentarios al respecto y mas aun la gran pregunta de este tema.... realmente serán Beani´s, tuve el gusto de conocer a Jose por acá en Mazatlan, sinaloa, el día 15 y 16 de Agosto, la semana pasada.
él y otros compañeros fuimos a la recoleccion de este pez, la verdad es alguien de fiar y con muy buena experiencia, es verdad que sabe mucho de peces de madagascar, pero sobre estos peces sabe demaciado tambien.
Y sobre los cuidados para mantenerlos vivos. En el traslado no tubimos mas que una baja.
