Although I don't believe that a few generations being tank raised will wipe millions of years of evolution for pH or temp adaptation.
I do believe that being tank raised in warmer water will favor those individuals of a spawn, and naturally cull out those very young of a spawn, that would be sensitive (at days or weeks old)and that do favor cooler temps.
My first group (the ones that died during an August heat wave, were wild caught.
My second batch were tank bred, and came from well known cichlid breeder from Michigan Pleco Pete.
 
Thanks Duanes. I figured that was the case but you're more knowledgeable in that area than myself. And Pete still always has nice fish available.
 
I remember an article by Dan Woodland (I believe) in Cichlid News Magazine back a decade or so ago, about some beanii he had shipped to his house, and when they arrived in mid winter, were almost frozen, because the bags had leaked most of their water, and the beanii recovered nicely almost unaffected by the cold.
