Love the pics fishnut!

I too own a adult male from rapps and he's extremely outgoing. He loves it when we go back and forth charging each other with his gill flaring.

In regards to the ones you lost...sorry to hear that. Were the ones you lost adults also? Any idea how you lost them to bloat...was it more diet or stress related?

Yes they were all adults. I can't believe it was diet, they were eating NLS pellets. The pellets I was feeding are not very high in protien and they were getting fed sparingly, once a day. One of the pairs had spawned and then I lost them less than a week later. Managed to save about 50 of the fry. Lost another female shortly after that. Happy to say the other 4 - two males and two females are doing fine. I can't put my finger on exactly what caused it but the thing I realized was the temp in the 220 was at around 78 F. Thats the tank the fish that were lost came from. Each of the other pairs are in divided 120's and the water is warmer, around 82-84F. The pairs in the warmer water seem to be thriving. Good luck with yours. Keep me posted on how they are doing.

Beautiful fish! Your pics are very good as well. :)

What's the max size of this species?
Thanks, the largest male I've seen was around 11". I don't believe they get any bigger than that.
