Bearded dragon and UVB

Hey guys,

I have a 3' reptisun 10.0 bulb in my beardie cage. I just redid the cage, and she can now get right under the bulb. Is this ok? She likes chilling RIGHT under the bulb....like, lift her head, and she would be touching the bulb.


Is this going to be a problem?

its uvb i think she should be fine mine used to do the same thing

You should get a mercury vapor UVB bulb.Reptiuv.com has the best ones on the market.Or you could try Sunpower,they have decsent bulbs.With the MVB's,you'll notice a big difference in your beardies color and eating habits.

your animal should never be in direct contact with any bulb so if she can touch it then its to close

Thats what I was thinking too....But it doesn't emit heat at all...

Does the bulb get hot at all? If so it could burn her. I wouldn't take that chance of it ever getting hot.
