Bearded dragon help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would just put the food in the dish and wait... it will eat eventually believe me. And just leave water in a dish and mist him every once in a while. It knows when it needs to eat and drink so it will when the time comes.

Agreed! Don't worry if it takes a couple days to eat, thats normal. Give it some time to settle in to its new surroundings and it should have no problem catching crickets on its own :D

If your temps are good, that means the right temp on the hot side and also having a cool side of the cage, then just give him several days to get used to the new set up. Lots of times Beardeds do need a little guidance to the water bowl. I used to place them by the bowl and mist them until they leaned further down and realized the bowl had water in it. Dont push food in its face either, it will wake up and stab you while your sleeping.

Beardies get most of their water from soaking, not drinking, so have a dish large enough to lay in, but only as deep as his/her leg joint. Do not ever mist directly on your beardie...if you do, and he goes under the light he can get severly burned(water acts like a magnafying glass). If you just got him, he may not eat for awhile...relocation stress can be shorter or longer...each reptile is an indivudal.

What size is your tank...what kind of lights are you using...and are you dusting your crickets? Dont feed crickets that are bigger than the space between his eyes.

P.S. No matter what you hear, sand is a horrible idea, google for pictures of Impaction and you'll get the idea. Slate tile looks good, easy to clean, and holds some heat in

Just to help give a basic set-up idea
