Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
I have been thinking about keeping a bearded dragon.
I have done some research about their needs and am wondering how much would a juvenile bearded dragon cost in Malaysia and
where can I get them from in KL?

Also, what is the minimum size of the tank required to host one bearded dragon?
Are they active or do they just hang around the whole time?

Are they even available in Malaysia?

Oh and does any one know where can I get a UVB light bulb for the Exo Terra heat lamp thingy? i bought the medium sized one and they dont sell the light bulb together.
Any one knows where can I get the light bulb? 50 - 100 watts would be nice.
Oh and in KL (kuala lumpur - malaysia ) too.

I dont know the awnsers to most of your questions, however I think you should go probably for a 50 w bulb, isnt your country very hot? 100w bulb is a complete overkill on your climate conditions. This is the heat bulb, asside you have uv bulbs which have lower wattages. Dont forget to search as well for sources of live food in your area before you get the dragon. Good luck with your search.

Yeah I have. There's a market my parents go to every Saturday and there's a lot of live feed there like crickets.
Do bearded dragons eat frogs too?
no, lol. id do a lil more research if i were you.
actually beardies need salads every day and maybe crickets every couple of days. meal worms and super worms (given that the dragon is big enough) are good as the occasional treat, however i recomend you try and buy pheonix worms online because they are great for them. please do more research.

Lol, the frog thing was just wondering if they do eat them since it wouldnt be cool feeding just crickets... do they have special food for bearded dragons like they do for fish like pellets? or do they only feed on vegetable and insects?
Am still wondering where can I get them in Malaysia. Its not confirmed that I'm getting them yet though. Just wanna check them out.

As a baby, I'd go with a 40 gal breeder or 55 gal. Once adult size, the recommended size is 48"x24"x24"....but obviosuly the more space the better.

Diet...for babies, crickets and lots of them. The rule of thumb is two meals a day, and as many crickets as they will eat. You can try intorucing to vegetables(collard greens, mustard greens...NO LETTUCE) and fruits then. Once they get to be about 6 months or older then you can change the crickets to dubia roaches...the colonies for those reproduce alot and are less a hassle than crickets. Waxworms and stuff like that are treats and should only be fed very occasionaly.

Please never feed your beardie a pinkie mouse. Fatty Liver Disease is not a good thing.

Depending on your ambient temp in your house, you may be fine just getting a uvb bulb. I use an MVB bulb on one end, and a common housebulb on the other, south dakota gets cold all the time.

^^ i agree and also add they should have a basking spot of atleast 110 so keep the heat sorce to one side of the tank with a nice log or rock for them to bask on and also try and find a reptile bulb with some uv in it like a sunglow yes reg house hold bulbs are ok but you dont want your dragon to just be ok you want it to thrive you will have better results and have a much better looking dragon wit proper lighting and food

I come from nearby malaysia so I would just like to give you some precautions. Firstly, take nothing from the shopkeepers in malaysia, they know absolutely nothing. Stick to research from forums like these and mass breeders online.

Given the information you have stated, I would say that it would be more wise to pick a sub-adult to adult bearded dragon. Lastly, being in malaysia makes you unable to pick out the standard vegetables chosen by american bearded dragon keepers. I suggest stuff like Bok Choy, Kai Lan, the occasional cabbage and not lettuce. Fruits wise, you've got a choice but stick to the safe stuff like mango and papaya, no lychees, longans or anything like that. Cactus pad will be a good calcium "adder" if you can find it in the supermarkets.

You can get good quality bearded dragons from docserpent in johor. I suspect he may have the accessories of UV lamps and all that. He may also have a branch in KL. Go for Zoomed items as far as possible.
