Bearded dragons!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
dosn't matter. if the bigger one keeps a faster growth rate it will steal food and then one day just decide to get rid of its competition (little beardie). Having them in a small tank is just going to make that worse. separate them.

I put them in a smaller tank. the two have been together for quite a while. the big one never lies on top. Just that once where it crawled over to get a cricket. The smaller one is still on worms and pin heads

You are arguing against years of experience. Myself, and the members of this board, have kept/bred/showed beardies for years.

Your beardies will be fine together, right up until the big one kills the little one.

I'm not super experinced with beardies but when it comes to most things you keep differnt size animals apart because plain and simply "big fish eats little fish".

very true. that little beardie that I mentioned earlier is still alive. the vet had to amputate his arm so he's stuck as a tripod for the rest of his life. I'm taking him home and nursing it back to health and giving it the best life it can have with only three limbs. plain and simple. if you don't want that to happen or worse, you have to separate them. It's for their own good man. Keep us posted.

The larger one is out competing the smaller one for food - the drab color you see is a sign of stress, even standard leatherbacks are a bit more "popping" than that.

Even if you don't see the bigger one crawling around on the smaller one when you watch them - that doesn't mean it isn't happening. Like it or not bearded dragons are territorial, and the only time they should be housed together is if you have a huge enclosure where they can set up their own territories - or if you're breeding them.

heck most things are territorial atleast to some extent. Listen to these guys man, they don't want you to make the same mistakes.

Let us know how everything goes. We would love to see pics of your full setup. Looks like they have a great home aside from rooming together ;).
