beardies new cage

Well you have been very lucky so far, because corn knops alongside gravel and sand are the main cause of grastrointestinal blocages in reptiles. Ive herd of cases of them killing green iguanas, plated lizards, leopard geckos,....bearded dragons! The thing whit them is that they are practily indegerible, they come in, get moist and inflate and that is what causes the blocage. One year is nothing, sometimes it takes some time. In my humble opinion only inverts should be kept on this along side wallnutt substrates. Whit the long term well being and survival of your beardys in check I frankly think you should swich to washed play sand like most people on this webside use with no probs at all:)
As for a male female combo, that can create problems to because males reach sexual maturity much earlier then the age females are really ready to mate. This can lead to early pregnecys wich can endup bad whit the female becoming eggound and dying. Even with a healty mature female its recomended to keep males apart or several females with one male so to dissipate the male mating insticts. One female with one male can create allot of stress related problems for her once he reaches sexual maturity. Be shure to fix that asap. Lets also hear from more experienced bearded dragon owners;)

I would lose that corn substrate as soon as possible.Playsand would look great in your set-up anyway, and far safer.Regarding male and female together-you will need to separate, split mine up last year as they just kept producing. The females can also store sperm,my big female laid 5 clutches last year, despite the male being removed quite early on.Its taken months to build her up again.

nice setup, and thats a lot of crix u put in there lol
