Maximum Standard Length
The biggest officially recorded fish measured 21.2"/53cm, but as with many species of large adult size most captive specimens fail to reach their full potential. Anything in excess of 16"/40cm is considered exceptional in the aquarium. There are also theories that suggest the differences in size between individuals could be related to gender or even indicate the existence of a species complex.

Cracking Fish Trent, Great Pick up.
My two are around 14" and I think they're Big.

Sore one in a display aquarium around 3 -4 years ago that was about 24-26" , by far the Biggest Lima Ive ever seen.
Stood in amazement looking at the thing going....that CANT be a Lima, that CANT be a Lima, HUGE.
Mustve been about as big as a Lima gets I reckon, although somewhere in Peru there is a 30" giant ghosting around!
