I must say I would get a little nervous if I was just sitting there dangling my feet in the water and all of a sudden I saw that mouth coming closer..

no I think it was released. The europeans are really good at catch and release these monsters. I've seen tons of youtube videos and pics of large ones and they advocate catch and release so these cats get bigger and bigger :D
 
I bet most people could fit their head in that thing's mouth. Probably not a good idea.
 
oh that's good then. i was thinking its such a shame if they killed it because its so big and lived for so long.
