It proply don't but it just sems to me like it weks the stran. By the genetics of it the only thing one can for sure get from the offspring is a 100% color. Lets say I breed a green blue longfin male to a short fin female steel blue of the same fry. This will only insure that At least 50% of there fry will have a violet brighter color. the other 50% of the fry will have the underline color { in other words if the male is green blue the green on top of the blue then the other 50% of the fry will come out with the underline color of the male whitch in this case would be the blue}
The one down fall to breed them togeather is that the fry are 75% more likely to get the short fin or long fin trate of there parents parents and not to mention they are more likely to get diseases easyer and live shorter lives. Now see what you did IKran you got me to not wanting to shut about my breeding and colors and anything else to do with bettas. See this is my down fall I love the guys and gals not just the fact there bettas but the fact tht with betta breeding you can turn more fry to the colors you want then take that fry and pick out the main color your tryig to get and then breed it to a male/female that has the color your wanting til end the end you have single handly make the color, fin lenght,body size. Thats one of many reasons and you can't do that with any other type fish
