the AVERAGE, and i'll say it again... AVERAGE lifespan of a betta is 30 months or 2.5 years. HOWEVERRRRR, then CAN live longer and are KNOWN to.

Bettas can live an easy 3 years if cared for right, lol 30 months then you got bad betta ^_^

I used to have a betta they say 1 male in a community tank is OK trust me its not... My otto found hat out the hard way

The other day I stuck my head into the fish dept at Wal*Mart and saw a betta in a cup that was the exact same shade of blue as my daughter's eyes. I felt so bad for the little thing, sitting in a cup, doing nothing. Crappy stock be damned, I bought that little female betta and stuck her in my empty 5g hex. Now I've got the betta bug. I want some REAL bettas now.

Go purple. If I could get a purple Betta with a #11 on each side that would kick ass. A Daunte Culpepper Betta!

ewurm, I just happend to have one, just picked it up at a LFS....not walmart. I think they one left.
