Yeah when I first built my sump w/ a diy overflow I was in constant fear of either the tank or the sump overflowing. It's been working fine now for over 6 months.
I just need to make a cover for it because I lose alot of water to evaporation each day. But I like the fact that the water level of the main tank stays the same.
