Honestly I dont have too much experience with handguns. My only handgun was my XD-9, I bought it when I was 18 and it was a great first handgun.

The XD series, like alot of modern pistols are fantastic, reliable, and simple weapons.

Ive shot some 1911s and there is nothing more erotic, yes, erotic, then the trigger on a nicely made 1911.

To me, handguns are more personal tools. What works for one may not work for the other when it comes to carrying and shooting accurately.

There are so many different types of handguns that its hard to say whats best.

The best thing is to stick with some of the better manufacturers and test drive different models that suit your need (carry, plinking, night stand etc) and go with the one that fits you.

Take the Glock 17 and XD-9 for example. Both guns fill the same niche as they are polymer gripped, full sized high capacity 9mm, single action only pistols. Neither have manual safeties and both are utterly reliable and both cost about the same.

Which one do you get? The only way is to hold and shoot the weapon. You will know which one wants to go home with you after that.

After I am comfortable building a supply of politically incorrect rifles and enough ammo I will purchase a few handguns. The one I know for sure I am getting is a Keltec p3at which is a tiny pocket for carry. Other then that I dont know. I love 1911s but I personally wouldnt feel comfortable carrying one, there are many 9mms that are nice and relatively cheap to shoot, but .40SW is a better defensive round...lol :nilly::nilly::nilly:

Well thanks for the quick reply, just wanted to know what you had.I have a Glock 21(45cal.),HK P7,but I have always wanted the Berretta 92.I came very close to getting one that was nicely priced at the last show I attended but a GSG-5 got in the way of that LOL.

The P7s have the grip cocker right? Post pics!

GSG-5, NICE! I need one as its really the only gun I could afford to shoot often!

Yeah the P7 is the soo called grip cocker but after a good deal of firing at the range, the metal that the trigger finger sits upagainst gets pretty hot but its a nice size for concealed carry. The GSG-5 I got because its the closest thing I will get to an MP5 but now I see that they have a shorter version so I may trade mine in for that.I dont know why they made it in .22 but it is cheap to shoot.

Thats why they made it in .22. You can buy various MP-5 clones in the correct caliber from different companies if that is what you are looking for. The short GSG is a pistol actually, you cant legally put a stock on it with out registering it as an SBR (short barreled rifle) and going through the BS to get that. You cant put a pistol grip on the hand guard either or else its considered on AOW ( any other weapon) and will need the same BS as a SBR or FA. :irked:

You could get a supressor thrown on there for pretty cheap, and that would make it a FUN toy!

Those P7s are pretty neat, post up some pics!

Yeah I'm aware of all the nonsense regarding the grips and stocks and SBR'S AND AOW's and soo forth. You gotta do this and ya gotta pay that, come on. With me the MP5is like the Uzi,if I cant get a real one then I wont bother but I love the design of the MP it's art but the clones are really high here, when someone has any.I gotta really work on finally getting pictures on here.

I agree, especially with the Uzi. Yeah a semi Uzi is nice but who really wants a nine pound pistol or an even larger and bulky carbine?
