All of the family over here are saying you have skills. And the consensus is to stain it. Mom said that I should marry you because you can build things and that's a good to have in a man. Great job!
 
even if you dont stain it, i would definately use a sealer of some sort. unfinished wood under 125/90 gallons of water is going to result in a shorter life for your stand. awesome stands though.
 
I love the design of your stand. The solid top is great I always thought they looked better that way and if you ever upgrade tanks it can be used as a side table or something. The open front looks great and I know that I wish mine still had them. I have some comercialy built stands and they all have are starting to sag in the middle due to not enough wood on the header pieces. The fix for them is simple just add a upright support but it does make it a pain to get at the equipment under the tank.

I have yet to get the stand for the 125g wet when doing maintenance on the tank. I wouldn't consider my self to cautious either.
