Bed room species

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I had a 55 in my room when I was 15, it held a JD, firemouth, convict, blood parrot and a common pleco. Very typical straight from pet smart tank haha

Thanks for the responses! Just got the OK from the misses to put a 75 in the bedroom. Cant decide between a wetpet/pair or planted discus!

Very nice! As for the choice it depends on what you want. Wet pet will (I think) be much for interactive while a planted discus tank will be very nice to look at. Good luck which every way you go!

I have a tank in front of my bed. I like how the severums are slow moving and the geophagus also swim on the slow side, occasionally mouthing each other.
once a while the delhezi bichirs come up to gulp air.
and the denisons are to have some speedy movement.

Here's a sideshot.

If it were me I'd go with something small and/or slow moving. I definitely would not want a glass banger or a digging machine. My 11" amph is in the living room next to my bed room and some times I can hear him banging stuff around in the tank. I would not enjoy having that in my room.

lol... i dont anymore but when i was a teenager i had a pair of oscars in a 55g, more than a decade ago now eeek...
Me too Justin I'm pushing two decades ago now :( they used to drive me crazy spitting gravel around at night , I also had a water dragon setup he wasn't noisy at night but the box of crickets were I used to get up in the night and shake the box up lol , point is if your a light sleeper op I'd either go bare bottom tank or fish that don't dig it will drive you crazy :D if you were considering a single wet pet what about a red wolf ? There pretty cool fish very active especially for wolf's

I have a grow out tank with a little silver aro in my room.

Anyone currently have an aquarium running in their bedroom? If so, which species inhabit the bedroom tank?!
A large school of cardinals with a group of platinum angels and about 3 or 4 julii corys in a heavily planted tank will give you both something beautiful and peaceful to cuddle with. The rest is up to you.

I like Neolamprologus multifastiatus. I had a group of them in a 5 foot tank when I was in High School. They are basically the equivalent of an ant colony, always busy

Currently have a male festae at about 4.5" with a salvini in a 125 galllon. So far not too noisy at night but that could be subject to change later haha.
