DUH.. didnt that person know, you can call bee keepers to come and remove the bees for you.

They come and knock the bees out with that smoke and take the bees and the combs. Then they add those bees to their collection of hives to make more honey.

And as a thankyou, they will give you the honey from your comb.

Usually its free of charge and you get free honey and the bees get to pollinate more flowers and make more honey.
thanks for educating people... i hope the word get out there...

If it ever happens again and you'd rather not kill them, put on like a heavy jacket and snow pants and power-blast them with a hose. They'll figure it's a bad spot to live and might swarm. (Swarm is generally a badly-recieved word, but it actually refers to when bees have a mass flight to re-locate the colony.
You really found honey? Honeybarbecue. <--- BAD PUN
I am afraid of bees so those pics made me squirm.
I actually love Bees/Wasps, but from a good distance
this was an email sent to me...i have no idea whos bees these are... ;)

That is a shame, honeybees are a valuble and dwindling resource.

I have to do the same to yellowjackets and hornets a few times a year, almost never that many though.

I had ground bees this summer, little tiny guys that came out of a hole in my yard. I was scared to mow over it and my 2 Chihuahuas were in danger.

I ended up pouring old gas down their hole one night when I was drunk.

I know better. I felt like a idiot the next day.

No more bees.

they were probably yellow jackets.. they make their home in the ground.. not honey bees if it makes you feel better..:D

^^ Yellow Jackets are NASTY. I hate those things! I saw this show on DK recently about "Deadly Insects." It helped my ID my worst fear: Those huge brownish things the size of golf balls that you see in areas of low brush and sand like golf courses, Prospect Park, and nature walks.
Turns out they're Bald-Faced Hornets. They have no problem flying right in your face to check you out. I got buzzed by one at Prospect Park once, I thought I had 2 choices: Face the Hornet or go for a swim:ROFL: (I was cornered against the lake.)
Luckily, he buzzed off to scare the crap out of another innocent fisherman:grinno:
(Well actually I guess it's "she," since all Ants, Bees, and Wasps you are likely to see are female workers.)
